Forbes Changemakers 2025

For the second time, we bring you the Forbes Changemakers selection. We present twelve people who are at home in topics that are currently resonating in the world, but also in the areas in which we need to move Slovakia forward the most.

At the beginning, we reviewed the quality of life statistics in Slovakia and public opinion polls on the problems that bother people living in our country the most. Subsequently, we found the intersection of these problems with topics that resonate in the world. This year, we focused on four categories: health innovations, green innovations, cybersecurity and social cohesion.

Health innovations – because the topics of longevity are coming to the forefront all over the world and innovative healthcare companies have the potential to improve people's quality of life and be an inspiration for "big" healthcare.

Green innovations – because climate change has not gone away and it is necessary to be interested in projects that bring ecological solutions to areas that have a fundamental impact on averting negative scenarios.

Cybersecurity – because this year, people, companies and states could lose a record 11 trillion euros globally due to online fraud, while many Slovaks also felt its impact this year through the attack on the cadastre.

Bonding society – because without increasing mutual trust and community support, the gap between the warring camps will only deepen and history teaches us that it can result in great tragedies.

Meet the personalities who will change Slovakia – Forbes Changemakers 2025:

Peter Dostál

Category: Cybersecurity

He is the founder of Aliter Technologies, he led it for fifteen years from the position of CEO, and is currently the chairman of its supervisory board. The company develops IT and communication systems for the military departments, multinational suppliers of military and aerospace equipment, and international organizations.

Dostál founded Aliter Technologies in 2007 as a small consulting company. He took advantage of the fact that several capable people were retiring from the Ministry of Defense at that time and offered them jobs.

Initially, they wrote studies and strategic materials for companies that did business with the Ministry of Defense. At the same time, they decided to develop systems as well. Today, Aliter Technologies' portfolio includes comprehensive solutions for the cloud, cybersecurity, tactical communication, as well as a unique tethered drone that can handle several days of continuous operation, or a Mobile Command Post vehicle that will be used by firefighters, rescue teams, or organizers of large social events.

Aliter Technologies has won numerous awards and delivered several multimillion-dollar orders for international organizations, government institutions, and the world's largest defense equipment manufacturers. It is a registered NATO manufacturer and has completed dozens of orders for the North Atlantic Alliance. Dostál graduated in electrical engineering and computer science from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

In the late 1990s, he moved to Canada, where he lived for seven years. He worked there as a project analyst in telecommunications, and later joined 724 Solutions, for which he designed and integrated data centers. After returning to Slovakia, he decided to start a business in the field of security technologies.
